365 Project #96 Yucca and Yucca Moth

The Yucca, or Spanish Bayonet, has a fabulous flower panicle in the early spring, but that's not the only thing amazing about it.  It has a fascinating reproduction cycle.  It can only be pollinated by the Yucca Moth and the Yucca Moth can only lay its eggs in the Yucca plant.  One cannot survive without the other.  Its popularity as an ornamental has resulted in a greatly expanded geographic range.
